Buče in marmelada / Pumpkins and jam

Bilo je hladno sobotno jutro... sneg v gorah in kapljice dežja na iglicah smreke, ki steguje veje na balkon.

It was a cold Saturday morning... snow in the distance and raindrops on the pine-tree-spiikes (I have no idea what is the correct word).

Pred časom sem našla recept za sladice iz buč in tisti dan sem ga privlekla na dan. Buče so me že čakale v zaboju.

I have found a recipe for pumpkin desserts a while ago and the time was perfect. There were pumpkings in the box.

In pridne male rokice tudi.
(Buča na fotki je seveda okrasna, kolikor je meni znano in je nisem predelala.)

Bučna marmelada

500g kislih jabolk
500 g narezane buče hokaido
500 g sladkorja
voda

Jabolčne krhlje kuhaš v vodi dokler se ne zmehčajo. Zmiksaš.
Koščke buč kuhaš v 1,5 dl vode dokler se ne zmehčajo. Zmiksaš.
Jabolčno in bučno čežano zmešaš in dodaš sladkor.
Kuhaš na majhnem ognju dobre pol ure in nato napolniš lončke za vlaganje. V vsak lonček dodaš paličico cimeta, janeževo zvezdico ali klinček za aromo.

Pumpkin Jam

500 g quarters of sour apples
500 g hokkaido pumpkin cut to pieces
500 g sugar
water

Cook apples in water until they are soft. Make puree.
Cook pumpkins until they are soft. Make puree.
Mix apple and pumpkin puree and add sugar.
Cook on low heat for half an hour ( approximate).
Put into jars and add a stick of cinnamon or anise star into each jar.
Store in dry and cool place.
