Vrnila se je / She is back

Spring I mean :o) No way we are letting her go again. Spring birthday's can not be celebrated on skis.

Cherry plum on our garden came alive. There's a wonderful smell around it and there is so many bees that the air is buzzing. How could I spent the day indoors studying? Impossible. I'm stuck anyway so one day won't matter.

Miss N is still willing to ccoperate in my crazy ideas.

Gospodična G, navihanka, da ji ni para.
Miss G, the little villain.
But she can draw. This beautiful picture is for her grandads birthday (today). Happy birthday, dad!

Prosim, hodite po prstih. / Please, whisper around me.

Pišem seminarsko nalogo o slovenskih sodobnih pesnicah.

Kot otroška roka

Ko se veja cvetoče jablane obarva rožnato,
spominja na roko spečega otroka:
zaupljivo se steza kvišku
in srečna drhte oklepa zrak,
kjer je bila še malo prej mamina roka;
kjer je bilo še malo prej ljubo sonce.
(Neža Maurer)
I'm writting an essay about Slovenian poets.

Like a child's hand

When the apple blossom bough
Turns to pink
It makes one think
Of a sleeping child –
Trustingly reaching upwards,
Tremulously, happily fingering the air
Where, earlier, had been
The mother's hand;
Where, earlier, had been
The darling sun.

Nona / Grandmother

Vsak praznik nas preseneti z novim, skrbno izvezenim motivom.

I'm not the only crafty person in our family. There's a lot of us. Today I would like to share this embroidery with you. My grandmother made it . It was carefuly placed over the Easter basket ful of home baked goodies.

Ste jo videli? / Did you see her somewhere?

Hipi pomlad.
Kakorkoli, preživeli smo prekrasen zasnežen dan.
Lady Spring I mean. She must have lost somethink - herself, her mind or her dress. Well I must admit, I like her white outfit, but right now, I would prefer some yellow, orange, pink and green.
However, we had a wonderful snowy day.

Velika noč in zaklad / Easter and Treasure

Miss G was responsible for eggs this year. She was drawing with easter egg colouring pens. She got bored at egg number 10, but there were still 5 to colour. She made a long line on every one of them and said I'm done. Those lines were snakes.

Sonce. / The sun.

Easter egg wrapings. I was wery pleased when I thought of this very easy and lovely wraping. I just cut a circle out of a soft cotton fabric and sew some lase on the edge.

On monday we were invited to the treasure house. Thank you B, everything is so beautiful. Everything on photos found a new home - ours.

Navodilo za izdelavo obleke iz puloverja / Dress out of sweater tutorial

I love the idea of taking something old and turning it into something new or taking little bits of what you might normally throw away and making something useful from them. Yesterday I made a dress for Miss G from an old turtle neck sweater of mine. I really love this idea and I decided to take photos of the process. I am just going to leave you with the photos and some descriptions of how this went from A to B . If you have questions I can try and answer them...but otherwise it is what it is...

Step 1- Find a sweater you are willing to part with. I used a women's small for almost 3-years old girl.

Step 2 - I put a pattern for a tunic on the sweater just for guideline. I was afraid to make the first cut. You can put a kids vest on.

Korak 3 - Premalo sem odrezala in zato vajo ponovila.
Step 3 - After my first cut it was still to wide, so I have to make some more cutting (white line). The yarn should hold together long enough to get this all done. Just don't go pulling and stretching on it.

Step 4 - Sew the back and front together (watch the arms holes!)
Step 5 - Sew a lovely ribbon around arm holes. I just hem them. You could sew some applique or make some embroidery.

Risanje s črnilom / Drawing with ink

Z gospodično G sva se pred nekaj dnevi lotili ustvarjanja z razredčenim črnilom in soljo. Očitno črnilo in sol ni prava kombinacija. Izdelki pa so vseeno simpatični.

Miss G and I were playing with aome inkdrawing with some watered ink and salt. The effect was not exactly as I thought it will be, but interesting anyway.

Senca na oknu / Shadow on the window

Popoldne sta se sonce in smreka prijela za roki in ustvarila na našem oknu čudovito senco. Seveda sem jo takoj slikala, nakar me je zadela strela realnosti, ko sem spoznala, kako zelo umazane šipe imam.

In teh afternoon the pine tree infront of our window and the sun embraced themself and made a wonderful shadow on our window. After a moment of admiration I realised how dirty my windows were. Gosh1 I quickly cleaned them and ... new even more magical shadow apeared.

Sladko grenki ponedeljek / Bitter sweet monday

Nekaj vam moram priznati. In danes sem imela termin.

I have a confesion to make. I'm afraid of the dentist. Yes, it's true. I'm not comfortable in the waiting room, when nurse call my name I allways thought to sham and on dentist chair I squezze my fist so hard it hurts. Yes, I had a date with dentist today. Al least I thought I have it but it turns out I didn't have it. Well, I had it on friday, but I mixed something up. I was so angry with myself.
But, there's allways sunshine after rain. A postman brought me a parcel from Maureen. But there was another obstacle on my way. I didn't have the key to get into the house, open the parcel, take some pictures... I couldn't open it without my camera. So I was waiting in my car on my folks to return. Can you imagine an old lady with her faourite cookise, but she lost her prosthesis. That's exactly how I felt. Grrrr.
Finally Miss G and Miss N came home with their grandparents and ... a few very exciting moments ... then ... parcel ful of goodies to make my very own doggie! Plus a lot of goodies just because - vanilla tee, little lavender bag... I couldn't belive my eyes.
Who cares about the dentist and waiting outside the house.

Lahko strgam papir, mami? / Can I tear the paper, mummy?

Tooooliko reči! Hvala Maureen! / Sooooooo many goodies! Thank you, Maureen! (The chick is already gone with Miss G.)

Ali ni to najbolj mega blago, kar ste jih kdaj videli? / Isn't this the best fabric ever?

Risanje / Some drawing

Ask me, what I like most: leaves or bugs and my answer would be Bug under the oak leaf. And if there is a dwarf rising the leaf and looking under it - that would be picture perfect. But I was neglecting my drawing for few years and I had to start with simple scenes.

Nasprotja / Contrasts

Not long ago I was complainig about our open air flea market. My moaning was not justify, since I was there seven years ago. But little has changed... or a lot. It's on a different spot and visitors are ... well it was so colourful and vivid that my housband thought that they were making a movie.
We brought home new wooden frames, a book about crochet and lovely cardigan. I was hoping for some buttons or laces, but I guess you have to be a regular visitor for that. And since my husband said, he is not going back for next seven years ... well somebody else will buy my buttons and laces.

Pictures are from more eyes friendly place. Enyoj!
