Sobotno vrtnarjenje / Saturday Garden Journal

Vrt je še vedno zelen in čudovit. Dež ga je lepo osvežil, poživil in mu dal novega elana.

* Na krompirjevo gredo (letos smo ga pridelali eno gajbo) smo posejali motovilec. Upam, da bo vzkalil, kajti nisem vedela, da ga je potrebno najprej malo ohladiti, da ga zbudiš iz poletnega spanja.
* Kolerabice so letos bolj slabo delale. Zelo drobne so bile.
* Cvetača dela samo perje. Sedaj bi se moralo pa že kaj videti, se mi zdi, pa ni nobene bele glavce nikjer. Oh ja, pa tako sem se veselila.
* Endivija krasno dela.
* Rdeča blitva je tudi čudovita.
* Ohrovt me je malce razočaral. Posejala sem kodrastega, pa ga nikjer ni. Iz semena je zrasel le brstični in nad njim še nisem izgubila upanja. Sadike ohrovta pa so čudovite in sedaj so že prave lepe glave.
* Fižol krasno dela.
* Paradižnik je mega, čeprav ima malo premalo svetlobe.

Our garden is still wonderful. Specially after lovely late summer rain.

*  Endive is doing great and we are on a good way to become a passionate salad family.  That's good, very good.
* We had one box of potato this year. That means we need 6times bigger bed for potato next year...
* I expected more of kale. Oh well, I still got hope for Brussels sprouts.
* Cauliflower is working on its leaves... no white head to be seen...
* Our tomatoes are wonderful and sooo tasty.

 Hazel trees are really ful this year. Girls were given a  task to collect the hazels but... playing with snails is more fun... but still, I told them to pick so many hazels to cover the bottom of the box (it was a big box, so they were good).

Love your flowers...so gorgeous! Thank you for posting pictures of the hazelnuts....I have never seen them right off the tree before...very interesting! Of course that snail was incredible..I do not think that I have ever seen one that big before! I can see why your girls are fascinated with them!
