To je... / This is...

... moj naj nakup v dobrodelni trgovini.
... my best op shop find.

Dobrodelne trgovine so ena izmed reči, ki jih bom ob povratku domov resnično pogrešala. V Sloveniji imamo le nekaj trgovin v katerih prodajajo rabljena oblačila in še ta so ponavadi hudo precenjena.
Dobrodelne trgovine delujejo po zelo enostavnem principu. Ljudje prinesejo reči, ki jih ne potrebujejo več: oblačila, zavese, lonci, steklenina, volna, gumbi, okvirju, igrače, knjige... VSE. V trgovini te reči pregledajo, ocenijo in ponudijo kupcem. Prodajalci so prostovoljci.

We don't have op shops in Slovenia and that makes me really sad, because I am an avid op shopper. I love it! Luckily we have a lot op shops in town where we live here in England and i'm their regular costumer. There's always somethink new on the shelves.

Kuhanje in pečenje / Cooking and baking

Preparing lunch can be really stresful in our house. It's like the world starts turning in the oposite direction the second I touch a pot. Miss N wants my whole atention and Miss G follows her example. Or so it was. I used to try finding different activities they would both enjoy and finaly hit the spot. This one is a big hit at the moment... doing what mommy does is always the most interesting thing.

And this is a rose cupcake made by Miss G for The Cupcake Project. Ivy and leaves + blossom from divine sweet-scented jasmine. I really like the idea of this project. Visit Felicity's site and take part in it.

Palčki / Gnomes

V začetku tedna so k nam prišli trije palčki. Pripotovali so iz Amerike. Ooo, kako so bili veseli, ko so zopet zagledali drevje in zaslišali ptičje petje.
Martha from Chickadee's nest was having a waldorf giveaway. She was in the middle of moving and cleaning out the house and she came across some Waldorf things that she no longer use. I was¸lucky enough to get just in time to adopt three little gnomes. My girls were delighted to find them in the mail and so was I. Thank you, Martha. They are loved and cherished.

To je ... / This is...

To je... moj stil oblačenja.
This is... my favourite outfit that expresses my individual style.

Washable and comfortable is my slogan. Mostly I'm wearing trousers, vest and a jumper knited by my granny (it's verrrry cold here). This is my home style that goes with my role being a mommy.

Drugi del / Part two
Rada imam:
- v pasu ozke hlače, ki se počasi razširijo;
- tunike in oblekice oblečene čez kavbojke;
- čipke;
- oblačila bele in bež barve ter tople zemeljske tone;
- hipijevska oblačila;
- vzorce listov (Melissa si je pred kratkim sešila mega oblekco);
- modo šestdesetih in sedemdesetih.

I love:
- smock dresses (over denim/ jeans trousers);
- trousers like this;
- clothes in white, beige, pastel colours and warm earth tones;
- laces;
- hippy clothes;
- leaves (Melissa made a great
summer dress few weeks ago);
- 60s and 70s;

Thank you Kitty for this week's This is... theme.

Bombažne in svilene niti / Threads

Obiščemo vse dobrodelne trgovinice in vedno se domov vrnemo s polno torbo. Običajno so v njej otroška oblačila in blago. Danes pa sem prinesla domov nekaj prav posebnega. Bombažne in svilene sukance na lesenih tulcih.
Once a week I went to a walk into town with my girls. We visit all op shops and we usually return home with a new fabric or piece of wee clothes. Today I was extra lucky. Look what was smiling at me from the shelf...

I was dreaming to have this cute little wooden things and... now I have a whole shoebox of them. YAY! I was playing with them for whole afternoon. There are cotton and silk threads in many, many colours. They have so cute names: Dark Mole, Chinese Green, Light Olive... off to look at them again...

Narediva ježke / Let's make some hedgehogs

Gdč. G: Kaj bova danes ustvarjali?
Jaz: Kaj bi ti ustvarjala?
Gdč. G: Ježke.
Jaz (v mislih preletim vsebino predala z ustvarjalnim materialom): Dobra izbira.

Miss G: Let's do some craft, mommy.
Me: OK, what do you wanna do?
Miss G: Hedgehogs.
Me (in my mind I skimed through the useful box): Good choice. Lets make some hedgehogs.

Of course she came up with new ideas while we were crafting... You can see more photos here.

Preden je zvečer zaspala, me je pogledala in rekla: Jutri bova delali bibe.

Knjige, knjige, knjige / Books, books, books

Rada imam knjige.

I love books. Specialy old, used one. To sit in an secoundhand bookstore is one of the sighlights in a citytour. My girls also like books - one tastes them with her mouth, the other with eyes. As¸lons as we are having fun...
I was¸really lucky this weekend. I found some really great books and I would like to show them to you. Perhaps you are not going to be to be as enthusiastic as I am, but they are special to me.
If nothing else, they belong to a different time...

Mislim, da bo tole moj naslednji projekt. Čepica. / This is going to be my next project. Little hat.

Poletna majčka na desni je izredno simpatična. / I like this little summer top on the right. Isn't the hole fot the arms great?

In tale predpasniček na desni. / Check the apron on the right. So cute.

Tale knjiga je POLNA odličnih idej. /This book is FUL of great ideas.

Ali niso srčkani? / So cute!!!

I have saved the best for the end. It's a cookery book, a novel, a diary and a family album all in one. A truly wonderful book with great recipes, photos and text. (Clik on photo to see a larger image.)

Darovi narave / Fruits of nature

Bezgov sirup je moja najljubša pijača. Z njim me vedno razvaja moja nona. Doma me čaka kar nekaj litrov sirupa.

Recept:
3 l vode
3 kg sladkorja
40 cvetov
5 limone

V vodo stresemo sladkor in zavremo. Odstavimo in pustimo, da se malo ohladi. Medtem operemo, olupimo in narežemo limone. Čez čas damo bezgove cvetove in limone v sladko vodo. Pustimo stati 24 ur. Sirup odcedimo, nalijemo v steklenice in jih zaprte postavimo v klet.

Elder blossom syrup is my favourite drink. My grandma makes is for me every year. There are few litres of fresh syrup waiting for me back home. Thank you, Nona.
For the time of our stay in England I made it some myself. It turned out to be really good.
Mmmm.

Try it.
3 l water
3 kg sugar
40 elder blossoms
5 lemons

Boil water the with sugar. Leave to cool for the time to wash, peel and cut lemons. Put blossoms and lemons into sweet water. Leave for 24 hours then filter and pour into bottles. Store in dry, cool place.

Catherine Rayner

Poglejte to ilustracijo. Ali ni čudovita? Doma sem na internetu takoj poiskala ilustratorkino stran in našla še več čudovitih slik. (Komaj čakam, da bo tale stran začela obratovati).

One of the first things we did, after getting cosy in our new home, was to visit a local library. Miss G went straight to the kids corner with soft rug and toys on the floor. She started reading and here and there brought a book to us to read it out loud to her. At one moment she brought a lovely book titled Posy. I instantly fell in love with the cute kitten on the front page. Just look at this illustration. Isn't it great? I could not help but search for Mrs Catherine Rayner on the net.
I hope her website is active soon, but in the mean time, you can visit this one.

It's no surprise that Catherine Rayner is an award winning illustrator and childrens author. She is really talented.
(Sliki sta objavljeni z avtoričinim dovoljenjem. / Mrs Catherine Rayner kindly alloved me to add her illustrations on this post.)

Mesto v soboto / Saturday out in town

Vreme je bilo krasno, prodajalci dobro razpoloženi, kupci neskončno zanimivi in ponudba... česa takega še nisem videla, še manj pa pričakovala. Kot bi bili na kakšni afriški tržinci. Paša za oči in usta.

Lady B took us to the market. It was great. The weather was sunny, sellers in good mood, buyers extraordinarily interesting and the offer... well I did't expect to see so many exotic fruits and vegetables. Like we were on an African market. A joy for eyes and mouth.

In potem smo se šli igrat v velik pekovnik sredi mesta. Gospodični sta uživali.
And than we went to play in a big sendbox. Girls loved it.

To je moj moj (najljubši) spomin s potovanja. / This is my (favourite) travel memory.

This is not going to be easy. There is so many memories related with every travel I had, that it is really hard to choose the favourite one. I would love to write about Iran, but I have no digital photos and a post without photos would be really boring. So I choose China, as we've already scanned the slides. The most interesting part was driving through Little Tibet.

Pralni dan / Laundry day

Celo gospodična G ni takoj zahtevala sovice Oke :o)

After a (too) long time the sun woke us up tonight. I almost forgot it is up there under those heavy grey clouds.
The puddles have dried and the song of the blackbird ivited us out to the garden. It was so lovely eating our breakfast with its beautiful voice trailing above us.

In zakaj to sploh pišem?

I made a good use of the warm weather. I did the laundry. Don't you think that clothes smell so lovely when dried outside? And... I washed my new fabrics. I couln't wait to show them to you. I also felted a sweater which is now ready to be used in my new project.

Pulover / The sweater

Miss G wanted to go to the ZOO, but since we have been there two days ago, we decided to go to a park. Which turned out just as good and interesting as seven sqirrels were running around us.
