Prvi dnevi po prihodu domov so vedno naporni. No, morda je ta beseda malo premočna. Dnevi so polni. Malčici ponovno spoznavata dom in vrt, vse igrače so nove, hiša je polna presenečenj in skritih kotičkov primernih za skrivanje... Do svoje ustvarjalnice sploh še prišla nisem. Skica, kroj in šivanje...
Hurrayic: dress-up giveaway

Ljubo doma, kdor ga ima! / Home sweet home!

Apple Orchard Overalls GIVEAWAY !!!!!!!

You are right! I'm home! I can hardly belive, I was having breakfast in England and lunch at home. Flight was great and my girls were diligent. Miss N was sleeping and Miss G was reading or watching clouds. Well, being fastend was not her favourite part of the journey, but who could blame her.
At home we enjoyed sunshine in the garden. I was talking with my mum and girls had fun in the wee swimming poll. It was so lovely. It's good to be home.
Speaking of warm summer day. Follow the link and good luck...

Še zadnjič... / For the last time

I have a habit before leaving somewhere - I don't count days but everyday-actions. On friday I went OP-shopping for the last time. For the last time I washed the bed-linen. For the last time I washed my hair... for the last time... before leaving England. I'm going home tommorow!

To je... / This is...

Dober vikend

Sestavine:
- zvrhan koš dobre volje
- nekaj zavitkov otroškega smeha
- kupica prijateljev
- pest čokoladnih bonbonov
- košarica sadja (jagode, maline, robide, marelice, fige)
- klobka ali dve volne
- meter blaga in ljubek kroj

V velik lonec damo dobro voljo in mešamo ves večer. Pomagajo naj prijatelji, drugače vas bodo bolele roke. Ob tem prija kozarček vina ali še bolje čokoladnega likerja. Naslednji dan začnemo dodajati ostale sestavine, a postopno in previdno. Blago ali volno dodajamo v urah, ko otroci spijo.

Gospa iz opečnate hiše / Lady from a brick house

Naslednje poletje so hišo kupili tuji ljudje. Vse Marijine reči so odnesli v velik zaboj pred hišo.

Tam so bili platnen senčnik nočne lučke, velika rjava steklenica, knjige, stari šiviljski kroji, vreča z volnenim škotskim blagom in navodili za izdelavo krila.

Once upon a time there was Lady Mary who lived in a small brick house on the edge of the city. There were flowerly curtains on the windows, a sewing machine and a big bucket full with wool in the living room. A lovely woollen blanket was lying on the sofa. Lady Mary covered herself with it while she read books on cold evenings.
One day the brick house became quiet and empty. A sewing machine was solitary in a courner and flowers in the garden covered the narrow path.
Next summer a new family came into the house. Children's laughter filled the empty rooms. All the things that once belonged to lady Mary were lumped outside. Rain washed the dust from the old sewing machine, books were soaked and the woollen blanket allured vagrant cats.

...lady Mary is an imaginery figure, but on the pavement of our street is a big dustbin full of very interesting thinks. Žiga was not very happy seeing me rummage around the bin, but how could I leave all the vintage patterns and wollen Scottish fabric on the rain. I bet they would all come and haunted me all night. Instead, they are inside, safe and warm. Lady Mary can enjoy her life, whereever she is.

To je... / This is...

Mislim nate!!!

I really didn't want to skip this one. Few days later is still beter than never. This is... a work in progress. It' s gift for a special little baby that we are all very excited about. Dear T, good luck! I'm thinking about you!

Duh iz knjižnice / A ghost from a library

In ni le kip tisto, kar spominja nanj.
Delali so do zgodnjih jutranjih ur (potem je delo nadaljevala še ekipa čistilk). Ko so si ob petih zjutraj privoščili topel čaj na hodniku, so zališali stopinje v knjižnici in nato groznjiv ropot padanja knjig.
Are you readdy for a ghost story? A guide from the Cardiff castle (which is a beautiful place by the way) told it when she was shoving us around. It's a true story!
The Second Marquis of Bute's family owned the castle for six generations and it was here where he died. His ghost is said to haunt the area where he died which is a small chapel located behind the library. A bust in his honor stands at the very spot where he died.
Most often his ghost is spotted in the library. He appears as a man in a long coat.

Now comes the spooky part.
A young cople hired a library for a party. It was a messy party after which the walls were sticky with chocholade and red wine was spiled on the floor. The staff were cleaning till the early morning hours. At 5 in the morning they went on the hall to have some tea. They have heard a big rumble and when our guide went to see what was going on, she found all the books are on the floor. A few hundred big, fat books. Scary, isn't it. It could only be done by a very very angry ghost.

And the night guard said, that he finds a book on the floor every night. Not really my dream occupation :o)

Oh, I just love a good ghost story.

Najljubša počitniška najdba / My favourite holiday OP shop find

Sedaj sem ga našla in tadam...

Dorchester is full with OP shops. Besides that, we had a car boot few minutes walk away from our house. Who could ask for more :o)
I would like to show you two drawings of a 18th century dresses. I found them in an Oxfam. When I saw the first one in a box, hidden in teh darkest corner (oh, how dramatic :o) I was so thrilled that at first I didn't think there might be some more. But there was one more. They are so perfect together, don't you think.

Besides, I belive they are original drawings, but even if they are not, I will hang them on my studio wall.

Naše počitnice / Our holidays

Pozdravljeni vsi!

Hello everybody! How are you?
I have had a wonderful time with my familiy and my parents. House swap was great and I highly recommend it. It's a great way of spending your holidays. Well, it was a little weird to step into a strange house, walk around it, but soon we all relaxed. Furniture, decorations, photos, pictures, books, kids craft... everything was so familiar and we got this filling that a family that lives there is so like us.
Misses love playing in the garden. There was a lot of hidden places and besides that a pair of tortoises came to check on us. They turned out to be a real territorial animals. Have you ever been biten by a tortoise? It was quite a big surprise, I tell you :o)

Vsak drugi dan sta nas pred vrati pričakali dve steklenici mleka.
Every secound day two bottles of milk waited on our doorsteep.

Gospodična G je praznovala tretji rojstni dan. Deda ji je spekel odlično čokoladno torto.
Miss G celebrated her 3rd birthday. Granddad made her the best chocholade cake.

Dva dni kasneje je praznovala moja mami. Naredila sem ji zvezek za pisanje idej za pravljice.
Two days later was my mums birthday. I made her a lovely note for writing ideas for children stories. I'm really pleased how it turned out. Felt and white thread.
V muzeju v Dorchesterju so imeli začasno razstavo Bolečine in radosti otroštvo skozi zgodovino.
Dorchester museum holds a temporary exhibition about Childhood through centuries. I especialy love this glass case. I love this little pushchair and those dresses in a drawer are so lovely embroidered.

These two faces are also from the museum. I have nothing smart to tell you about them, but I like them.

We did a lot of trips into towns and vilages around Dorchester. In each was a house that grabed our attention. A heart made of rods makes heavy white door so lovely, don't you think?
Prebivalci te hiše pa obožujejo zelenje. čeprav nimajo pred hišo praktično nič prostora, so postavili kup lončnic in hiša je oživela.
Residents from this house love flowers.

Bath is full of pigs. Miss G wanted to touch and ride every single one of them.
Plaže so polne prečudovitih kamnov.
Beaches are ful of amazing stones. I could walk for hours and collect them.

Risbica gospodične G.
Miss G's drawing.
Moja starša sta navdušena nad njim in sta v Anglijo prišla vsak s svojo njegovo knjigo.
A great English writer Thomas Hardywas born in this lovely cottage. My parents were both reading his books when they were here.

Miss G enjoyed the garden and its little inhabitants more than the cottage.

Miss N, however, found it all to tiering.

Žiga suggested to cut this post, but I like it just the way it is. I have so many things to show you. A lot to catch up.
