Miss Potter

Včeraj sva imela z Žigom filmski večer. Ogledala sva si film, ki ga morate videti! Umetnost, Ljubezen, Družina in Narava združeno v čudovit film Miss Potter.

Žiga and I had a movie evening yesterday. An English movie, of course, the one you absolutely must see! Miss Potter! Art, Love, Family and Nature all combine into a wonderful movie wih great actors. Renee Zellweger does a fantastic job as Beatrix Potter, fitting perfectly into picturesque Victorian England. And Ewan McGregor... :o)
Oh, and I love when her her paintings become animated under her caress and jump around on the page, causing Beatrix to scold and cajole them. So lovely and exactly what artists must do... enter the lives of their characters.

Oh , I so want to go back to Lake District! I Would love to see Hill Top again. Who knows, it's not so far away afterall...

Moja mavrica: RDEČA / My rainbow: RED

Majhni rdeči copatki za gospodično N. / Little red booties for Miss N.

And because they are so fun and quick to make, so I made one pair for myself as well.

To je... nekaj kar imam, pa še nisem uporabila / This is ... something I got, but still haven't used

Hearing this title made my housband smile... I'm the queen of collecting art, craft material like paints, paintbrushes, pencils, sketch pads, fabric, ribbons... That's all in my cabinet waiting for an inspiration. I love to have everything at hand - or at least most of the things I need when I get the idea.
This poor little stand is still in an original box... waiting...

Sea Life

Akvarij Sea Life.

It was raining today so we went to the most wet place under a roof. Sea Life.

The light around this big snail was magical. It's a shame the picture cannot replicate that felling.

Ste vedeli, da zaljubljeni morski konjički plešejo? Kar stali smo ob njunem akvariju in ju opazovali.

Did you know, that seahorses in love dance? We couldn't move on, we just stood there and watched them. They were so harmonious, so charming, graceful. You could almost hear the gentle music they were dancing on.

Živjo, rakec. / Hello, little shrimp.

Še en par. / Another couple.

For the end something special. A sea fairies fancywork. Isn't it marvellous? Can you guess what it is? Oh, let's play a game. Tell me, what you see, well what you think you see. Can't wait to see your answeres.

Pari / Pairs

Neverjetno, a resnično. Na današnjem obisku simpatične tudorske hišice z božanskim vrtom sem imela čas narediti nekaj skic!

Unbelievable as it may seem, at today visit to a wonderful Tudor manor house I manage to do some sketches in the garden!

"Kje so otroci?" / "Where are the kids?"

Dopoldne je zunaj tako malo otrok. Otroško igrišče večinoma sameva. Babice in dedki se s svojimi varovanci le za nekaj minut ustavijo na njem in že hitijo dalje.

The playground is mostly empty in the morning and only birds are siting on the swings. Grandparents seems to be really busy and they stop with their grandchildren only for few minutes and then move on. Miss G couldn't understand how is possible that kids don't want to play, specialy because there is so many interesting things you could do besides swinging.
There is something really sad about the lonely child in the big playground, isn't it?

Najdena vejica / Found branchlet

Nanj smo se umaknili s prometne ceste in se znašli v zavetju visokih dreves, gostega grmovja in popolnega miru.
We went on a walk few days ago. We escape from the traffic to a quiet graveyard. Big trees, shrubbery and peace embrace us and we felt safe from the hurry on the other side of the brick wall. There was a rhododendron branchlet on the floor. I just couldn't let it there on those cold wet ground.

Ključavnica / The lock

Okoli in okoli v levo in v desno.

Every house has its secrets. Thinking about knowing them all in a week is naive. You must be ready for a surprise at every moment and it is good to have one hand free just in case... to catch a falling radiator for instance. Our house has her special way of making our life interesting. Today she decided, that we knew eachother well enough so there would be no hard feelings. We wanted to go for a walk so we carefully locked the front door behind us. But with small kids... you know... of course we forgot something. When my housband (Ž) tried to unlock the door, the lock didn't respond. Like there was no mechanism in it. The key was turning around. Yikes, now what. Ž wanted to go in through the livingroom window... but it faces the street... with the rush hour there were many passing cars, pedestrians, etc. Well, a suspicious policeman is not on the top of the list of people I like to chat with. But it had to be done. He managed to get in and problem was solved with a simple manoeuvre - he took the reserve key out of the lock. I swear, i could hear the house giggling...

Srednji svet in Hanbury Hall / Middle Earth and Hunbury Hall

Pozdravljeni vsi. Upam, da ste preživeli lep vikend. Predvsem upam, da vas je grelo sonce. Tega nam tukaj kar malo manjka.

Hello everybody! How was your weekend? I hope yiu have a lot of sun. We're missing it here. I'm not sure what is the weather forecast, but I prefer to be suprised anyway. The weather here is more or less a surprise anyhow.

No, pa poglejmo, kakšen je bil naš vikend. Malo več kostumov in podobno. :o)

And this was our weekend. On Saturday we went on Middle Earth Weekend event. It was fun and I can't say, I was dissapointed, but I expected something else. Well, at least more costumes and music. I guess I could blame the bad weather.

Prikaz bojevanja / Middle Earth battle

Ali niso te vilinske žlice prekrasne? No, sicer niso ravno vilinske ampak izvirajo iz Škotske, pa nič zato. Če so na njih izrezljani listi bršljana, so vilinske :o) /Aren't thise fairy spoons great? Well, at least for me they are fairy with those ivy leaves carved in them.

In one of the tents there was an artist painting this kind of drawings. Isn't it lovely? I wanted to take a photo of drawing he was doing, but I didn't dare to reach over his shoulder.

Pečenje ribe / Baking a fish

Ujedi / Birds of prey

Today we went to Hanbury Hall. It was beautiful. Pastures were yellow from thousands of buttercups, on the lawn infront of the house pheasants try to conquer the hen pheasant, rabbits were running... Miss g was enthusiastic. We really had fun.

Libanonske cedre / The cedars of Lebanon

Tele lepotičke so bile skrite za visokim zidom na vrtu. Naj izgledajo še tako dolgočasne in sive, pritegnile so moj pogled. / This lovely cords were hidden behind the wall. They might be boring and grey to you, to me they are sweet and fairy. They also remind me of chain stiches that Melissa from Tiny Happy is doing.

To je moj način recikliranja. / This is my way of recycling.

Besides 'boring' separated collecting of waste (paper, plastic, glass, compost), with which I'm not going to bother you, I love reusing old clothes, table cloths, bedding... I love fabric and making something new from clothes nowbody wears anymore makes me really happy.

Olga the Owl is recycled. She is made from an old jeans.

Naj vam predstavim... / Let me introduce you...

... Olga Sovko.
... Olga the Owl.

She hatched on my sewing table few days before our flight. Miss G like her very much so there was no question taking her with us. Now Miss G is trying to teach her how to fly in our garden. Olga is not very happy about it. She seems to be a walking owl not a flying one. Oh well, but they both enjoy listening a audio cassette about The Owl Oka. Three, four times a day. Lucky me :o) (It was my favourite story too, so after 25 years break, little Oka came back to us in all her glory.)

To je ... kar me spominja na mami - This is... what reminds me of my mum

Tokratna tema blogerske igre This is... (v originalu This is...), je prišla kot naročena.

Torej, kaj me spominja na mami...

I'm late posting this weeks theme, but there's so much going on right now. What remind me of my mum...
